A Washington, DC area native and graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law, Derek has served as labor counsel to Major League Baseball, General Counsel of the Miami Marlins, and VP of Business & Legal Affairs for Under Armour Sports Marketing - covering basketball, football, and other major sports. Derek has negotiated and worked on some of the biggest and most complex deals in sports, including major multi-year player contracts, top of the industry endorsement deals for athletes and entertainers, and company marketing, sponsorship, and other business deals exceeding $2 billion in value. Named one of the Top 40 executives in sports under the age of 40 by Sports Business Journal at the age of 34, Derek has consistently shown that he is one of the brightest and most accomplished professionals in the industry. Derek is a NBPA certified agent and will help lead negotiations and contract work for both on and off court deals for UNLTD clients.
